Big teeth

If you could bring back one dinosaur, which one would it be?

Big bodied beasts once
Wandered over hill and,
You know, dale. Some ate
Others. Others ate leaves.
TRex was scariest, but the
One who is biggest is new
To my vocabulary. He is
Patagotitan mayorum or
Titanosaur. His femur was
8 feet long. My my. Bigger
Than others they've found.
Pata. M. was prone to eating
Plants. Two meat eaters were
Discovered larger than King
Tyrannosaurus. Things have
Changed since I learned my
Lessons at the Museum of
Natural History. They say
From new finds that these
Dinos roamed at different
Geological eras and the
Numbers of how long ago
Are as big or bigger than
The big bodied beasts that
Wandered o'er hills past.

Doomsday the 2nd

Paradise is eroding
The umbrella drinks
They get bigger, the
Island tracts they are
Smaller. We are not
Breathless over their
Beauty, we just can't
Breathe the air it gets
Bigger fills with the
Smell of smoke come
From away the beach
It slips away into the
Waters all so soon, so
Overwhelming. Feel
The heat the fires are
Far away, eroding our
Island drowning our
Peace, our paradise

Doomsday poem 1

The acrid smell of smoke
Rising. Did they warn us?
Did we expect the heat to
Bring so many pollutants
Into the air? From where?
Change they say is good
But is this the change we
Wanted? The planet is
Changing, shifting at its
Core. This is structural and
Deep. You don't see it as
It comes from within from
Underneath. It comes out
Of nowhere from below so
Suddenly, the center doesn't
Hold. Smoke all around and
Shaken foundations below
The temperatures so high
Is this all the progress we
Have made? Stench, heat

Second course

What foods would you like to make?

Cabbage and cribbage, baggage and ribbage,
Is it red or purple, green or yellow, a
Member of the vegetarian family or
A meat; dairy-white or blood-red like
A pure, well-plied hamburger, bulging
Beyond its roll. Cheeses and milks, ice
Cream or whipping cream, breakfast, or
Dessert. Each meal bigger, sometimes better
Cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes on the vine,
Vying for a place on my plate and in my heart

Tasty

What foods would you like to make?

Vegetables, the ultimate plant-based plate,
Inspire me to cook colorful foods graced
With beauty, full of tastes. A variety I ate
Sometimes slowly, sometimes in haste.
Red, green, the onions a touch of purple
The imperial onions like periwinkle or myrtle
Enhancing the dish, make it smoky, regal.

Domestic pets

Dogs or cats?

Your choice of pet does not
Impart character to you. You
Aren't smart just because the
Bundle of fur aloofly licking
Her paws looks like something
Out of a mummy's tomb. You
Have to earn the trustworthy
Title your golden retriever got
By being loyal. Siamese cats
Are decorative; doesn't make
You an objets d'art owning a
Pair. Strays as we called them
Back in the day, you know 'em
As rescue dogs, are often very
Canny. Are you street-wise if
Your dog is? Or a deep-thinker
Because your cat always has
That look in his eyes. You are
Not your pet, it's safe to say.
Who's a good boy, who, now!

Where does the time go?

Which activities make you lose track of time?

Tempus fugit. I learned that in Latin class.
I am obsessed with time, but
Time is not always as kind to
Me. Nor as thoughtful. It just
Passes me by, willy-nilly and
Careless as you please. Time.
Where does the time go? Why
Should its passing mean so
Much to me when it cares so
Little? I'm obsessed with time
But it doesn't give a fig for me

Changes

What bothers you and why?

I am bothered and I am
Annoyed. My favorite
Cereal is out of stock,
But that's not all. We
Did so much damage,
Oh not you and I we but
The collective we, the
Stewards of our earth
We. Humans have not
Been respectful of the
Planet. We pilfer the
Air we have trouble
Breathing or pollute it
Til it's unrecognizable.
Rivers and oceans erode
The land as heat melts
Ice. Oh and our supplies
Are running low, too. My
Favorite cereal is out of
Stock. I am bothered. I am
Annoyed. Ask me why.
