It's easier than I think
Anticipation is harder
Than the simple doing
Not the t-shirt slogan
The doing comes with
Thoughtful provocation 
Nothing "just" about this
Accomplishment, but I
Know I can make words
Spill and tumble, whorl
Into a pattern because 
Here I am an athlete in
My stride, taking a high
Hurdle, clearing it with
The ease of thoughts in
Motion. I anticipate and
I land. It was a moment 
Of tension, everything 
Clenched. Then release.

In what just feels like forever.
Let's talk. Soon. Okay? I miss 
Hearing your voice. The sound
Is like ripples on a stream. Soft.
Soothing. I would say mellifluous.

In elementary school, you learn 
To read and write. By high school, 
You may have mastered thinking. 
Being philosophical is becoming 
To the teen. Thoughtful and full of
Thoughts with the ABCs as a sweet
Soft cushion to bolster axioms, to
Underpin creeds, and enforce the
Theories to which rampant ideas 
Give voice and credence. Dogma
And ideology do not endoctrinate
The freethinking being who, being
Human, hatches plots that connect
To all others in the world mankind
Shares. Philosophy is a special gift
Which might lead to wisdom in the
Advance of years. But for now be 
Content like the grinning Cheshire.
You are young. Everything is new.
