Know it all

Which topics would you like to be more informed about?

I want to know it all, but who
Has the time to be that wise or
All-knowing. It may take effort
I can't expend; find too hard to
Do. I like sharing short bits of
Esoteric information I release 
Off a short leash to a surprised
Audience or one that's prepared
Perhaps better than I and with 
A deeper understanding. Whys
And wherefores escape me as 
I navigate a wealth of knowledge 
I don't truly own or possess, but
Just skirt around and touch upon.

Lesson learned

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

Lessons deferred from life's great
Smorgasbord of thought, we feast
Off a table of ideas and philosophy,
Wondering what it is we should know.
Knowing what I know now that I did
Not know then. So hard to distinguish 
Lessons learned from those deferred.
Wish I knew which is which, what is
What. Lesson learned. Is it too late?

What are your favorite types of foods?

Spaghetti, (give a little bow), meet sauce.
Sauce softens the passage and makes a path 
Smoother. Pasta craves its sauce for flavor, 
I guess I do, too. Meat sauce or just olive oil or
Butter and cheese. Spaghetti, meet sauce.

The quiet at the end of our day

What are you doing this evening?

My evening is a long unwinding.
If it's 5 o'clock or 6, I am finding
Reasons to chill, ways to be still 
At the end of our day, I first fill
My time with the quiet that is
Singular to the darkening skies
The sun goes down in silence
It's peaceful, dusk is guidance

Describe your ideal week.

A dip in the - not bragging- Olympic pool
Makes an ordinary day that much better.
Rinse and repeat. Walk in sunshine, cool.
Grab a tall, superb latte in a quiet corner.
As seven days pass, we can string them  
Into a week. One idyll after t'other marks
Time passing slowly and quick, it's a gem
Every week the best in my memory lurks.

The sporting life

Name the professional athletes you respect the most and why.

Skills thrills goosebumps and chills
These guys can hit, run, score points.
Jump hurdles, too; some of them will.
All that we admire even aspire to do.

Short the ‘g

How do you relax?

There's a song for almost any phrase
As it pops into my head. As it arises
With elipses, colloquial inaccuracies 
Hum along with my thoughts, every
Endin' short one g, feels picturesque
Maybe it's picaresque. Maybe I'm not 
Sharp 'cause I am tired. Tired 'cause
I need to relax. Listen to the song and
"Takin' it easy." Ending short a g, wiz!

How are you feeling right now?

When asked about my health, I utter
A terse response, not begrudgingly or
Out of reticence. I'm really not shy, nor
Secretive. I tend to be open, forthright 
Candid and frank. Ready with a bright
Quip or a silky retort. No essays, just a
Check mark next to good, well, fine, Ok
