Fall

Do you, like I, have a
Favorite time of year
I am fond Ado Annie
Style whichever time
It is. When I'm not near
The season I love I love
The season I'm near. So
Sorry R&H for my huge
Transgression. All times
Are good seasons to
Celebrate. What? well,
The seasons, of course
But I love best of all the
Season known as autumn
I love it best, I do. Fall

Is it? Can it be?

Is it the night sky, in my nights
As in my days, an urban force
That greets me, twinkling as if
Bulbs were stars or fluorescent
Lights completely natural? In
Our habitat they are. Of course.
Off course. Don't veer so far as
To look for a pole, either north
Or south to guide you to your
Residence. Look just a few, a
Very few blocks to the west or
East, really in any direction to
Find your way home. All the
While enjoying the night sky.

Sunset

It was brighter than this
If not this then what?
What will inspire me if
The blinding ring of the
Sun fails to bring words
Rushing forth to describe
To capture to encapsulate
Its fiery splendor? Do I
Need more reinforcement
A bigger vocabulary, more
Colorful and spicier then
The one I use every day.
Is awe overwhelmed by the
Sharp but edgy sphere I
See setting to my west?

Envious

The young in general are so
Physical. It's not just youth
Which takes to preening so
Their movement is so much
More languorous. Children,
They're jumping - sideways,
Around, dodging, and loud.
Running into and away in a
Pattern athletes could envy
But I am the most envious
Of their fluidity of their ease
Of their comfort with bodies
In motion, of performances
So simple yet so acrobatic.
