So much madness, crazy
Stuff, so crazy you only
Can call it shit, crazy shit.
Just reach for the sides,
Sweet potatoes, they will
Save you, I like mine with
Out the marshmallows, I
Know, sweeter maybe is
Better, especially now, I
Agree. Pass the brussel
Sprouts, please. There's
A chandelier at the Met
That just makes me feel
Good, feel better. These
Lights go up before the
Curtain does. At the Met.

Sunrise?
The mornings are dark
It's hard to determine if
This is the time I should
Get up. There is no cue
In the sky. I do rise early
But I don't want to be up
Aforehand. There's early
Then there's too early I
Want sun up to provide
My clue, to guide me to
Action. There is no light.
The mornings are dark.
Is it darkest before dawn?
New beginning
At dawn, the day was still
Dark as it is when daylight
Savings rings in the winter;
Skies slower to lighten so
That the light of day has
Crept up on me. I cannot
Tell you when it opened up
When it really turned into
This day, the first of a new
Year. A new year, which I
Am slow to welcome just
As this morning's sky was
Slow to let in light. This is
The first and usually, I like
New beginnings, a fresh
Start. This first feels as if
It's been rotting while it's
Waited for a big entrance.
Is it already stale, and as
Predictable as yesterday?
All in Order
My hair was more interesting
Before I ran a brush through
To create some order out of
The nightly chaos. It seems
That order bores and chaos
Revitalizes. Who knew? I did,
I think, and I am sure you did
Too. Yet we disparage all that
Is chaotic. We crave order in
The little things that make us
Domesticated. We say "A place
For everything and everything
in its place." We say it with the
Grim self-satisfaction of chaos
Conquered. Order everywhere.
Tidy up
I need someone to tidy my
House bring order in /out
Of the chaos. Tidy my mind
Clean out the messes that
Accumulate with time /in
Time /over time and under
Every cabinet and drawer
