The sun, high and strong,
Does not mock your mood,
It does not taunt your truth,
The sun, strong and high,
Is impervious to what you
Feel. It did not notice you
Brooding or worrying, the
Sun is doing what it must,
Brings a fine day, whenever
It can. It's not about you.
The sun's indifferent! Don't
Take that personally. The
Sun, strong and high. It's
Not about you.

It’s clear
It's such a clear, such
A bright blue day, that
Every object I see in
The distance is clearer
And brighter, reveals
Its own outlines with
Moral clarity and the
Strength of defiance.
That water tower is
Defined by its bulk
And by the lines of its
Shape held high in the
Clear blue, traced by it.
There are, for instance
Also windows that shine
Today, looking out and
Inward, brightened by
The clarity, clarified by
The brightness.
Dawn
The morning light entices me.
Is it later or earlier than I can
Ever anticipate it to be? This
Morning I am awakened by
It's early appearance.Shouldn't
I know if it is just dawning or if
It has been bright for hours or
If it is just first light? Shouldn't
I know just by the quality of the
Day as it peaks into my room
What time it really is?
Sunrise?
The mornings are dark
It's hard to determine if
This is the time I should
Get up. There is no cue
In the sky. I do rise early
But I don't want to be up
Aforehand. There's early
Then there's too early I
Want sun up to provide
My clue, to guide me to
Action. There is no light.
The mornings are dark.
Is it darkest before dawn?
Sunshine
A dappling sun beams on the river,
Twinkling, playful like dolphins in
The sea. So many shades of blue, of
Green, colors in a spectrum of greys
All speckled and flecked. Lively
Shining in the brightness of a sun
Gleaming, dancing over the waters
A byway

The sky is a road to a distant
Place but this road ends in the
Distance. The clouds sorta just
Fall off. You can only go so far.
Grey
It looks cloudless but cloudy,
A sky so smoky grey it lets in
No sun. Cloud cover that is a
Camouflage so complete you
Wonder what exactly you are
Seeing. It's warm this winter
Day; when is February ever
This balmy? Maybe the sun
And clouds are hiding in a
Confusion similar to my own.
Look closer
It's a uniformly pale blue
Look closer why don't you
There to the left a pillowy
Mass of greyish cloud meets
The azure, disrupts its single
Hues, changes its singularity
To a subtler picture, one of
Diversity of color and form.
Look closer, why don't we?
